Dr. Asha Wise:
Dr. Wise opened Monroe Animal Care Hospital, P.C. in April 1999 after working as an associate veterinarian in Conyers for ten years. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary medicine in 1989. She received her B.S. in Biology form the University of Georgia in 1984. Her interests include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and internal medicine. She writes a column twice monthly for the Walton Tribune and resides in Monroe with her husband, David, twin sons Bradley and Scott, and her youngest son Benjamin. She shares her home with three dogs and four cats and stays busy by spending time with her children who are actively involved in competitive swimming.
Dr. Elizabeth Perry:
Dr. Perry joined the hospital veterinary staff in the spring of 2001. She is a 1987 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her twin daughters live on a farm in Walnut Grove. Dr. Perry is actively involved in shelter rescue of unwanted animals in Walton, Rockdale and Newton counties. Dr. Perry started a rescue group in 1999 called Pound Puppies and Kittens. They adopt out over 500 animals per year. She is also a member of the Walton Animal Guild (WAG). The WAG is a local non-profit group that promotes spay/neuter, humane education, adoptions and other programs that benefit the welfare of pets and owners in Walton County. Dr. Perry enjoys spending time with her family, camping, gardening and working on her farm. She has quite a menagerie of pets.
Dr. Lisa Kelly:
Dr. Kelly joined Monroe Animal Care in June of 2008. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from UGA in 1993, her Ph.D. in Biology from Georgia Tech in 1998, and spent her time before veterinary school developing diagnostic tests for human diseases at the CDC and UGA. She is one of a set of identical triplets, and these two sisters are also small animal veterinarians in Georgia. She and her husband, Ed, share their Athens home with three cats and one mixed-breed dog. In her spare time, Dr. Kelly enjoys participating in triathlons, horse-back riding, and bird-watching.
